CULTURAL COMMITTEE
The Cultural Committee of Tunga Mahavidyalaya organised inter-collegiate cultural competitions for students of pre-university colleges in Thirthahalli Taluk on 13 August 2025, from 10:30 AM, in the college seminar hall.
Students from various PU colleges actively participated, showcasing their creativity, confidence and cultural talents. The programme provided a platform for young students to express their abilities and cultural spirit.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 6 September 2025 in the college auditorium. Dr. L. C. Sumitra, retired Principal, attended the programme as the chief guest.
Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated on 28 November 2025 in collaboration with the Department of Kannada.
A one-month Certificate Course in Theatre was organised for 30 interested students in collaboration with a local cultural organisation and the Alumni Association.
As part of the course, students rehearsed and staged the play Barbareeka at Shantaveri Gopalagowda Rangamandira, Thirthahalli, during the Youth Theatre Festival. The performance received warm appreciation from the audience.
Students of Tunga Mahavidyalaya participated in various competitions at Sahyadri Utsava–2026, organised by Kuvempu University from 12 to 14 March 2026. The students brought laurels to the college by securing first place in One-Act Play and Charmavadya, and third place in Mime.

A theatre camp for children aged 7 to 14 years was organised from 10 to 23 April 2026 in collaboration with Ranga Geleyara Balaga, Thirthahalli.
Annual intra-collegiate cultural competitions were organised for all students from 21 to 23 April 2026. Students actively participated and showcased their talents and creativity.
The Pratibha Puraskara and Co-Curricular Activities Valedictory Programme was held on 5 May 2026. Certificates and mementos were awarded to students who excelled in various competitions and activities.
CULTURAL COMMITTEE
Kannada Rajyotsava and the inauguration of cultural, sports, NSS, NCC, Red Cross, Rangers and Rovers activities for the academic year 2024–25 were held on 14 November 2024. The student forums of the Arts, Commerce, BCA and Science departments were also inaugurated on the occasion.
Students of Tunga Mahavidyalaya participated in the inter-collegiate cultural competitions at Sahyadri Utsava, held at Kuvempu University from 9 to 11 December 2024. They competed in 20 events and won prizes in five. Their folk dance performance also received warm appreciation from the audience.
Students of Tunga Mahavidyalaya won first prize for their performance of “Atthala Kishkindeyol” at the district-level Kuvempu Drama Festival competition held on 3 January 2025.
The competition was organised by Sahyadri Ranga Taranga, Kuvempu Pratishthana, Kuppalli, and the Department of Kannada and Culture at Samskruthika Bhavana, Shikaripura.
CULTURAL COMMITTEE
Students of Tunga Mahavidyalaya participated in the state-level cultural and management competition organised by JNNC, Shivamogga, on Wednesday, 13 July 2022, as part of the National Education Committee’s activities. Students secured prizes in the debate and quiz competitions.

A competition on the theme of India’s freedom struggle and freedom fighters was held at Tunga Mahavidyalaya on 4 August 2022 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Students from three colleges participated in the event.
A quiz competition was organised at Tunga Mahavidyalaya by the Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat on 27 September 2022. Students of the college secured first place and also achieved first place in the taluk-level competition.
Achievement: First place in both the competition held at the college and the taluk-level competition.

Viveka Trust organised competitions on 12 January 2023 to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Students of Tunga Mahavidyalaya secured prizes in quiz, essay writing and speech competitions.
