About the Department:

Tunga Mahavidyalaya was started in the year 1967. The Department of Mathematics was also started in the same year with 28 students under the leadership of Prof. Jagannath Guptha and Prof. Durgoji Rao (PCM). Now the dept. has two permanent faculties, functioning effectively under the leadership of Dr. M. Nagaraja, Since Thousands of students have come out with flying colours and they are serving in different walks of society while joining this college.

The Knowledge level of the students is not up to the mark. Here they are trained to see the finer aspects of the subject, within a short period they show remarkable improvement and build a base for their higher education.

Objectives: –

• Be able to apply problem-solving and logical skills.
• Have a deeper understanding of mathematical theory
• Have a solid knowledge of elementary statistics
• Be able to communicate mathematical, logical ideas in writing
• To offer a set of core courses in mathematics aimed at developing the student’s intellectual curiosity creative ability and habit of independent study.
