Vision                                                 :    ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ, ಕಲೆ, ಸಂಸ್ಕøತಿ, ಇತಿಹಾಸಗಳ ಅನಾವರಣ. ಬಹುಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬದುಕಿನ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ನಿಜ ರೂಪಗಳ ದರ್ಶನ.

Mission                                              :    ಕಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನಾಧಾರಿತ ಜೀವನ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂತಸ್ಥಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು. ವರ್ತಮಾನಗಳ ಬದುಕಿನ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವುದು. ನೈತಿಕ, ಗುಣಾತ್ಮಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತ ಬದುಕಿನ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದು. ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ಬಗೆಗಿನ ಅನುಸಂಧಾನದ ಹೊಸ ಮಾದರಿಗಳ ಪರಿಚಯ.

About the Department                  :       The Department currently has adequate number of qualified staff. Out of two faculty members have Ph.D Degree. Other two members during the Ph.D Degree in futures. By attending periodically Orientation and Refresher Courses, seminars, workshop etc. to update their knowledge.
